It has been a great summer, a little too hot for me but great none the less! We have been blessed with a full house all summer which means we've made many new friends and enjoyed good times with our old friends. Due to the warmer then normal temps, the lake has been great for swimming, tubing, and skiing, and the fishing has been better than expected. We have seen more crappies (up to 15") and large mouth bass caught this year then in all the years we have been here! The small mouth are always a sure thing, with many in the 4-5 lb. range, but the walleyes have been a little tougher to catch......although two of our guests caught the largest walleye of their lives this summer! We are pleased that the Catch & Release Program instituted by the DNR has proven to be successful in preserving and growing our smallmouth bass population.
We also filmed another fishing show with "Outdoors in the Heartland" which will air next year and our Tower Cabin is pictured in the August issue of Cabin Life Magazine.
A new addition to this Blog is an updated fishing report from our guides at Yukon Jack Outfitters. Check it out below!
